Matt Johnson

Founder & CEO As Founder & CEO at MotiveX, Matt drives the company strategy as well as leading business development efforts. Prior to founding MotiveX in July of 2015, Matt was a top producer in the enterprise engagement industry for more than ten years. Matt’s expertise in partnering with his clients’ consisted of strategy and execution for internal communications, training and human capital motivation initiatives. Matt’s clients consisted of F500 companies such as GSK, Teva, Merck, Pfizer, Shire, Endo, AmerisourceBergen, Jefferson Health System and DuPont. Prior to this, Matt spent twelve years in leadership positions within the health and wellness industry.

Matt is an Advisory Board Member of the Greater Philadelphia HBA, a Board Member of TECH Freire Charter School in Philadelphia and sits on the Thought Leadership Committee for SHRM. Matt also serves as a Limited Partner in MissionOG, a Philadelphia based venture capital fund. Matt received his BA in Business Management from Gettysburg College and MBA from Pennsylvania State University. He is an avid tennis player, musician and collector of antiques.

Carrie Casullo

Co-Founder & Chief Motivation Officer As Co-Founder & Chief Motivation Officer at MotiveX, Carrie drives the company’s business development and strategic partnership efforts. With more than 25 years of professional sales and marketing experience, Carrie has a strong passion to understand what motivates people at their deepest levels and to build mutually beneficial partnerships.

As a leader in marketing, sales and strategic partnerships with Disney and Disney Institute for 15 years, Carrie worked closely with senior leaders at Fortune 1000 companies to accelerate the emotional connection between organizations, end customers and their employees. Additionally, Carrie has most recently worked in the training and employee engagement industry. During her tenure, she uncovered the forces that affect employees’ motivation to learn, grow and become more productive within their roles and organization.

Katina Sawyer, Ph.D.

Chief Talent Scientist As a Chief Talent Scientist at MotiveX, Katina leverages her consulting experience, as well as her academic knowledge of motivation and engagement to design and validate MotiveX's employee assessments and tools. By balancing academic knowledge with practical applications, she supports the team in delivering high-quality, effective, user-friendly solutions to drive employee motivation. Katina joined the team because of her passion for talent management, leadership and motivation.

In her prior experiences at Corporate Executive Board (formerly SHL), clients such as Kraft, Pfizer, Carl Zeiss, UGI, and Hertz often lacked solutions for increasing employee motivation. She witnessed a need in the marketplace for an assessment that would truly help managers understand their direct reports and create more enriching and meaningful workplaces for employees worldwide. MotiveX provided the perfect blend of psychological science and applied practical knowledge that she finds motivating. Katina also is an Assistant Professor at Villanova University in the Graduate Programs in Human Resource Development, in the Psychology department.

Katina holds a dual-Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Women’s Studies from The Pennsylvania State University. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Villanova University.

Christian Thoroughgood, Ph.D.

Chief Talent Scientist As a Chief Talent Scientist at MotiveX, Christian utilizes his wealth of expertise as an industrial-organizational psychologist to design and validate employee assessments that create more meaningful and engaging work experiences for employees. Additionally, Christian’s scientific knowledge and practical experience in the areas of employee motivation, selection and assessment, and research methodology brings vital thought leadership and expert guidance to the team.

Christian joined MotiveX because of his background and interests in employee selection and assessment, motivation, and leadership. Christian designed employee assessments, performance management systems, and assessment centers for various organizations, such as Aerosoles, UGI Corporation, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Johnson and Johnson, and Penn State University.

After working for several years as an Assistant Professor in Northeastern University’s D’Amore-McKim School of Business in Boston, Christian recently moved back to the Philadelphia area where he is now an Assistant Professor at Villanova University in the Graduate Programs in Human Resource Development. He holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology (with an emphasis in research methods and statistics) from The Pennsylvania State University and a B.A. in Psychology and Economics from The University of Maryland, College Park.

Pamela Long

Chief Experience Officer Pam Long is responsible for the real life experiences our customers have while interacting with our assessment software. Pam has over 30 years of combined technology and management experience in the software industry and she specializes in identifying the core needs of the business and its customers in order to create an impactful experience for end users.

More impressive than her capabilities are her results. Pam has directed IT initiatives for many companies including a case where an enterprise organization attributed 10x sales growth to a custom ERP software platform Pam and her team developed over the course of several years. In addition to Pam’s CXO role at MotiveX, Pam is also COO and managing partner of Curotec, a custom enterprise software development firm.

Brian Dainis

Chief Technology Officer Brian is responsible for directing the technical decisions of MotiveX including software development, system architecture and adoption of new technology. Brian has a leadership background in the tech industry and IO/HR issues have always been a passion for him. This led him to attend SIOP and other similar educational events related to the IO space. When Brian was introduced to Matt and learned about MotiveX’s mission, there was an immediate interest in the business model.

Brian has worked with many companies ranging from startups to Fortune 100's developing web and mobile applications to solve real world business challenges. Brian also serves as the CEO for Curotec, a custom software solutions company serving the enterprise market, and maintains a director role for LVI, a 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to help make funding and resources more readily available to early stage entrepreneurs.
